Game 26 vs San Antonio Outlaws
4/28 vs San Antonio L 1-4 (33,013)
With only two hits Wichita couldn’t have really expected much from the game. Aviators were actually level at 1-1 after three innings, but that was as good as it got. After that the game ran away from Wichita, with Outlaws scoring two in the seventh to seal the deal. Juan Hernandez’s third innings homer was Aviators only offence while last year’s star Takanori Goto moved to 0-4

After splitting a four-game series in Mexico Wichita proceeded to do the same at Thomas Magnum Stadium. The first game was a real battering though, outhit 10-1 the Aviators used their only hit to send the ball over the fences for their entire pitiful offence. On the last day of the month Wichita scored two in the first, third and fourth innings to gain a commanding lead. Jason Bowen went 3-4, scoring once and driving two runs in while Jorge Reyes only hit in three AB’s was a two-run homer. Finally Ramon Guerrero collected his first ever BBA win, pitching seven innings, allowing just three hits and one run. At last he had his reward for a decent first month in the BBA. The first game of May saw Aviators collect their second consecutive win for only the second time in 2044. Wichita scored twice in the first innings, but Aztecs fought back to 3-3 after five innings. Aviators didn’t buckle though and two runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh broke the resistance of the Mexico boys. The top five in the Aviators lineup all managed two hits, Jason Bowen collected three RBI and a run scored with his two hits. Lucio Gomez collected his first ever Wichita win and Tony Alomar finally collected his second save of 2044. The final game of the series allowed Aztecs to grab a second split series, runs in the third and fourth by Mexico gave them that win. Jorge Rincon, who really was having a desperate season with the bat, went 2-4 with a run scored.
Games 31 & 32 @ Calgary Pioneers
5/3 @ Calgary L 3-8
5/4 @ Calgary L 2-8
The two-game streak soon collapsed as Wichita headed for Calgary. Aviators outhit Pioneers 12-8 but lost the game when Calgary scored five runs in the fourth innings. Guillaume Martin went 2-5 including his fifth homer of the season, Takanori Goto barely made it out of the third innings as his record dropped to 0-5. In the second game Damon Tipping too dropped to 0-5 as four runs in the sixth turned a 2-1 lead into a winning 6-1 margin. Jorge Reyes managed three hits from four AB’s but failed to trouble the scorers in any other way.
