FPL: Aviators pound out double figures at Aztecs (2043-8)
Palm Bay tally 10 as they extend streak to four games
Palm Bay opened with a lead at the Cocoa Beach Aztecs but trailed 2-1 after three innings. Then the high powered offence that has been the trademark of the ’42 Aviators kicked in, with two outs in the fourth, a double & single tied the game. Another single and a walk loaded the bases and it was left to a mighty stroke by Ernesto Ramirez to clear them with his second Grand Slam of the season. The game was taken beyond Aztecs in the fifth when Bill Burke and Fernando Casimiro went back to back long balls to move the score to 9-2 Aviators. Raul Lopez added Palm Bay’s fourth homer of the game in the ninth to reach a double-figure tally for the second time this season.
Sumitomo Takahashi was a bit wild, walking four, but he went seven innings allowing five hits and two runs while striking out three. Apart from the power boys, Aloisio Prudente went 2-4 with a walk and scored twice. Brian Best surprisingly went 0-5 on the night, his first 0'fer of the season.
