YOUR 2042 WICHITA AVIATORS
Finally, here it is, the final rosters are set and the whole lot are on the plane to Charlotte to begin the Aviators eighth season. Will it be the one they finally get a winning season? Stop laughing all you lot at the back! It has to come sometime, doesn’t it? Ok, hands up, it won’t be this year or maybe even this decade, but Opening Day is always a time of hope. The time where everyone is tied for first, when bottom dwellers can be on top of the table if their alphabetical name allows. Six months of heartache is on the way for Wichita fans, maybe this year though there may be a few extra to share the pain. Thanks to our $10 ticket offer we have sold 18,084 season plans so far this year, an increase of around 20% and the social media posts from the Front Office are boasting that the average crowd at Thomas Magnum Field could be as high as 33,000. An unlikely tale as I’ve ever heard.

All the rotation has BBA experience, but not much. Last year they started a total of BBA 67 games and won 21. If they can’t develop into full time starters it could be a REALLY rough year in Wichita. We could perhaps be looking at the greatest hot seat rotation in BBA history coming up.

A pretty experienced bullpen that actually recorded 31 wins last year, 10 more than the rotation. OK, some of them were at Triple-A, but a win’s a win, right? It’s a bullpen that will give a lot of runners but will hopefully be able to stop some of them scoring. Perhaps they can pick up 20 wins? Somehow, it’s looking as if a tally of 50 will be this staff’s best tally, I’d love to make that 60 though
