FPL : Two weeks fly by in an instant (2042-10)
Two weeks fly by in an instant
It seems like yesterday it was December 1st, well now it’s suddenly December 16th and the last two weeks haven’t been as kind as the first week. That’s one way to look at it, but perhaps not the right way. After going 6-1 in the first week of the 2041 FPL, the Aviators have gone 7-8 over the last two weeks with now just six games left of the season.
At first glance it doesn’t look that great for Palm Bay, bogged down in mid-table in the Southeast division, no-one troubling the leaderboards and most stats weighed down in the lower to bottom end of the FPL. Look closer though, only the current three-game losing streak took the Aviators away from challenging at the top of the division and we didn’t really expect any of our pitchers to rack up great numbers due to the way we are using them. The batters were used normally and achieved mostly mid-FPL stats, which in all honesty is probably overachieving given the rating of our farm system. Most of them have proved that they deserve a shot at Double-A in 2042 and we will probably consider trying Kinara Cobley and Cesar Lucero as our double-play combo in Columbus. Most of the infielders too will be in Columbus too, but we’ll probably keep 20-yr-old Elmer Lomond back in A ball Topeka and continue his reps in right field which we started in the FPL. He is competent in left and centre but a bit weak in right despite having the arm for it. He’s young and we currently have two capable rightfielders in Columbus, so maybe a year honing his skills in Topeka will make him a valuable 4th outfielder going forward if can provide defensive backup & bat all-round the outfield.
Jorge Garcia has certainly earned his spot to continue in Columbus’ rotation which he made four starts in during the end of 2041. 21-yr-old Carlos Rocha has continued his improvement as a stopper at the back end of a bullpen and will almost certainly get a non-roster invite to spring training. His career path then we hope will be a season in Triple-A Albuquerque as we feel he’s on the verge of outgrowing Double-A. 19-yr-old Reynold Voermans is in line for a promotion from Topeka to Columbus as despite limited time on the mound in Palm Bay he has looked as though he deserves his chance to prove himself in Double-A.
Standings (as of Dec. 16th)
Team Leaders (as of Dec. 16th)
With six games still to come we need to win four of them to equal the Aviators best ever season of 17 wins. We have a few single season records in reach too and we'll bring you details of these in the next FPL update

Time moving strangely... it’s enough to make you wonder if we’re living in a simulation...
