The Wichita Aviators ended their 2038 on an unprecedented run of awesome results, as they chewed up the hapless BBA with a 35-24 record over the final two months of the regular season.

"Everyone else sucks," confirmed Wichita Genius, GM Hopkins," We just crapped on the entire league."

The Aviators ended the season with a 72-90 record, an improvement over their 2037 record of 71-91.

"We are closer than we've ever been to a world championship," enthused the Genius," We now have in place twenty to thirty role players and adequate BBA regulars. We have the back half of a playoff pitching staff, in place. We are only missing the final ingredient; Five generational BBA stars. Once we fill in those five missing players, we will bitch slap the BBA all season long, not just in two month spurts."

The Genius will have to win a world championship after an offseason spent overhauling a 2038 roster which sees many core players not returning for 2039. Five positional starters and two members of the starting rotation, including infielder Sparky Anderson, Designated hitter Ed Curry, third baseman Gary Schneider, catcher Don Logan, right fielder Chet Gabriel, pitcher Ramon Garza, and pitcher Ricardo Ortiz, have all refused to re-sign with the Aviators for the 2039 season. Original Aviator, lefty reliever Piano Legs Villegas, has also declined to reup with the Wichita franchise.

The expected exodus will leave only six players; twenty-eight year old outfielder, Alvin Dickinson, twenty-four year old first baseman Juan Perez, thirty-two year old closer Abe Colbert, thirty year old lefty reliever Aldo Hes, twenty eight year old reliever Martin Torres, and twenty-five year old pitcher, Dan West, as the only original expansion Aviators remaining from the inaugural 2035 expansion season.

"I'm already planning the 2039 championship parade route," grinned the Genius.

Looks like you have the league right where you want them. I'm glad I'm over in the UMEBA.

Wichita went 2-1 versus Edmonton this year, so by Genius standards, Wichita is the de-facto Landis Champions of 2038.
