2038.11 Stowing the Overhead bin Shortstop

Shortstop

This is the one area that Aviator fans can look at with pride. The reigning rookie of the year resides in Wichita, and if he'd make a better third baseman than a shortstop...well...so be it.

Twenty-two year old Alex Ramirez was everything the Wichita staff thought he would be when they selected him with the first overall amateur draft pick in 2035. He amassed over 5 WAR, was the Aviators 2037 all-star representative, won the Puckett Bat award for SS, and won rookie of the year in 2037, and he still has room to develop.

There's not much to say other than he'd make any team in the BBA better.

Backing him up in utility man, Ismael Pena, so any sort of long term injury to Ramirez and the Aviators are a much poorer team for it.

Another utility man, Jim Abernathy, lurks in AAA, although its impossible to see him filling Ramirez's shoes adequately.

So yeah...plenty of room for optimism and pessimism in Wichita!
