2037.19...On A Higher Plane...Aviators send rookie shortstop to 2037 all star game

The Wichita Aviators lone representative at the 2037 BBA All-Star game was 2035 first overall (and Aviator first ever draft pick), twenty-one year old shortstop Alex Ramirez. Ramirez received 25 of 28 league wide ballots to receive the honor. Ramirez has a midseason slash line of .311/.373/.548 with 18 steals, 16 homeruns, and a ZR of -0.9 for a midseason WAR of 3.1.

Ramirez becomes the first Aviator to ever be voted in, the team's previous mid season classic representatives being league appointed, (2036 2B George Lee Anderson V (WIC) - .306/.427/.397, 252 AB, 1 HR, 31 SB, 126 wRC+, 2.0 WAR, and 2035 CF Alvin Dickinson (WIC) - .314/.363/.573, 239 AB, 13 HR, 7 SB, 144 wRC+, 2.1 WAR), both previous reps had garnered two votes each in losing the popularity contest to Zap Martinez and Sandcastle respectively.

Ramirez has anchored a surprisingly good Aviators team to a likely 2037 wild card spot, forming probably the best ever double play duo that midwestern baseball fans have ever seen with 2036 all-star Sparky Anderson.

The second round pick from the Aviator's inaugural 2035 draft, centerfielder Pedro Martinez, has also performed well for the Aviators, prior to his season ending injury. Which reopened the door for Aviators 2035 all star rep, Alvin Dickinson to reclaim centerfield.

Ramirez went 1 for 4 in the game, with a triple, an RBI, and a run scored in a 4-2 loss, in what was a massive upset by the Frick league.

"The Sun sometimes shines on a dogs ass," grimaced Ramirez.
