2037.13...On a Higher Plane...Aviators lose two pitchers in first week of season

The embattled Wichita Aviators have lost six pitchers in the space of a week; losing Bin Ibrahim to the Rule V, Juan Martinez, RussiansVasilyev, and Maxim Makin to waiver claims, and now Armando Rasquilha and Gonzalo Fajardo to season ending injuries.

Fajardo has been a constant innings eater in the Aviator arms arsenal since the first day of expansion, accumulating over 270 innings and 17 wins over two seasons for the franchise. The left hander will be tough to replace.

Rasquilha has promised lots and delivered very little in his two seasons with the club. The much ballyhooed 25 year old has bounced up and down between AAA and the Aviators the past two years, and 2037 looked to be the season he was finally going to fulfill his remarkable potential; his shoulder injury now looks serious enough to derail his career before it ever really starts.

"The good thing about not having a good pitching staff," grinned Wichita GM, Genius Hopkins," Is that a single injury (or two!), is unlikely to derail our season. These are both guys that I can replace without too much difficulty...I hope!"
