2037.08...On a Higher Plane Two more bodies added to 40 man

The Wichita Aviators have complicated their already complicated roster situation by signing two more first baseman/Designated hitters via free agency.

The newcomers will be thrown into the mix with incumbent designated hitter, Ed Curry, young first baseman Juan Perez, and rookie Scott Hoover, who looks ready to undertake a big league role in 2037.

Professional hitter, thirty-one year old Italian, Jimmy Strambi, was signed to a two year deal, with a team option for a third season; with all three seasons at under a $1 million a season. Strambi is a useful enough player, but seems to fit the excellent same mould as Scott Hoover - a decent enough bat against left handed pitching with absolutley no redeemable defensive qualities.

Forty-three year old, Brian Clough, was also brought back to the Aviators at $1 million a season for two seasons; (the second being a team option). Clough has very limited on-field value, and the club is already holding a leadership role on the team for the venerable Paul Scholes. It seems unlikely that the club can carry two elder statesmen on their roster without a) hurting the team's on field performance and b) losing a roster player or two with future potential due to the lack of minor league option years leaving them available on waivers to the rest of the BBA.

Wichita Genius, GM Hopkins was incredibly happy at the announcement of the two free-agent captures.

"Any time you can bring back a guy like Clough is a great day,"he gushed,"And Italians! You should see Strambi's sister! If you dig mustauches, well...you know that there's nothing better than Italian women!"

The moves bring the Aviaotrs 40 man roster to 39 players.
