On a Higher Plane...2035.19 Wellington injured!

Disaster has struck the Wichita Aviators, as recently anointed 2035 Wichita second baseman, thirty-eight year old Andre Wellington was hit by a pitch thrown from that dastardly villain from Jacksonville, Donald Martin.

"Martin is a gutless puke," announced Wichita Genius, GM Hopkins," For someone to do that to a guy, who is not only old enough, but who could very well be, his father...well...it's disgusting. I hope we hit ten Hurricane batters a game this season. The bunch of cheating Stevers."

Its a devastating blow to the Aviators, as Wellington was poised for a breakout season in 2035, widely tipped to lead the Wichita team to the playoffs on the back of his expected 40 homeruns and gold glove defense.

Wellington will be filled in for by his capable deputy, twenty-eight year old, former Edmonton starting second baseman and shortstop, Grant Montoya.

"Montoya is okay," grumbled the Genius," But he's no Wellington."

Wichita fans expressed their dismay at the injury to the popular Wellington, by continuing to refuse to buy season tickets.

The expansion club has sold only 3,712 tickets, one day away from opening day, and the start of their ten day home stand against Calgary, Montreal, and Seattle. Although perhaps such inferior opposition, is the real reason for the sluggish ducat sales.
