On a Higher Plane 2035.12...Curry acquired from Louisville

The Wichita Aviators consummated their first ever trade recently, acquiring thirty-two year old designated hitter, Ed Curry, from the Louisville Sluggers for $1.

Curry was a hitting force prior to his arrival in Louisville in 2033, averaging 35 homeruns a season in Huntsville over six seasons, (including back to back 49 and 48 homerun seasons in 203 and 2032). Then Louisville GM, Genius Hopkins, signed the stud to a six year, $74 million deal prior to 2033. In his two seasons in Louisville, Curry found his playing time limited, and that the home park had a limiting effect on his homerun totals, (registering 18 and 25 in 2033 and 2034), and had to be played far from his comfort level, in the Sluggers right field position.

Curry's large contract and diminishing returns, and his inability to field, made him a target for removal by incoming Louisville GM, 'English' Nige, a fair minded individual with flawed footballing taste. 'English' was receptive to a deal that enabled him to remove $12 million off of the books to replenish his Sluggers' outfield with better fielders.

Wichita Aviators Genius Hopkins' obvious affinity for the star Curry, and the Aviator's LHB friendly park dimensions, made the modest investment of a dollar a slam dunk proposition.

"Lets face it," grinned the Genius," Curry is a star. He's gonna put butts in the seats all by himself; we all know chicks dig the long ball. We have the cap room, we have the position open for him. It's a perfect fit."
