Wichita Genius, GM Hopkins announced the hiring of former big league superstar pitcher, forty-eight year old Zach Bauer, as the inaugural assistant to the Genius of the expansion club Wichita Aviators of the BBA.

Bauer is best known as a rotational lynchpin from the strong Louisville Sluggers teams from 2015-2021. The lefty teamed with Bryan Walden and Abe Colbert in forming a formidable trio at the top of the Slugger rotation. He had his best season in 2021 when he went 19-3 and won the Nebraska Trophy.

Bauer is also widely known around the BBA as 'Wilson's muse'. Unbalanced Madison Wolves GM Chris Wilson suffered under an unhealthy fixation on the southpaw, and wrote many articles about him and that guy Fiscus around the mid 2020's or so.

"I started researching through the 'talent' pool that was available to me for the expansion draft," grinned the Genius," And I discovered it was going to be a lot of work...there's a lot of filler and no real gems in there...so I called ZB to see if he was available to help me sift through the mess. We started going through the clowns made available from Huntsville and we couldn't stop laughing. Then we started drinking. Then he called some broads he knew. One thing led to another and I ended up hiring him on full time. Now I can nap and he can do the garbage detail. Its a classic Genius move...if he does a good job, I take the credit...if he doesn't...he gets fired."
