The Morning Glory 2061.06: Eliminated

Rocky Mountain will not play for a Landis for another year. Since winning it all in 2056 under previous leadership, the organization has only made the playoffs 1 time.

The sweep in Calgary pretty much sealed their fate. Winning even 1 game would of at least put them in a game 163 with Montreal, a team the Oysters went 5-3 against. Now they sit at home as Montreal is in the Cartwright against their division rival Charm City.

"Just had an unfortunate ending," said GM Brandon Slouck. "Tough timing injury wise and had some guys be pretty selfish."

The injury refers to All-Star SS Lucio Guevara who went down with a torn meniscus in on 9/10. The other statement is a little more interesting.

Future HOF Malik bin Mazin was suspended 5 games for fighting on 9/17. This caused him to miss the whole Calgary series and game 1 of the Mexico City series. They went 1-4 in that stretch.

"We have to be better than that," added the GM. "You have to know the situation and what we are fighting for and swallow your pride. And he just didn't. We still had a chance to get in but I think that sealed the deal."

bin Mazin couldn't be reached for comment.

After another mediocre year, there could be changes on the team. The GM is known to hate being mediocre and has no problem going for it when things are good but tearing things down when they're bad. With the salary cap set to shrink even more, the tear down seems more likely. Rumors have swirled that the organization has already talked to other teams about players. Of course, when reached out to, that was denied. But they have to at this point. This offseason could be the most interesting in a long time for the Oysters.
