Phoenix, AZ--
The Talons are always looking for easy ways to get points. And after the last "News and/or Notes" team news, a helpful GM suggested something even more low effort: Odds and Ends. So, here you go!
Mayday, Choppa Going Down!
Talons 1B G'Tuda Choppa hit .315 with 42 homers, 136 RBI, and 4.0 WAR last season. This year, however, has been a relative dud, with the first baseman slashing a mere .249/.289/.486 this year. That gets him an all expenses paid trip to Toledo for the time being. Israel Perez was called up from the Liberty and already has a 1.106 OPS in his first week.
Subaru Gets A Flat
Talons "shortstop" Tsu-bahr Rhu was forced to the DL last week with a lat strain, making an already precarious SS position worse for the Talons. He is expected out for two weeks. ML backup Felix Vasquez takes over full time, while Jodie's brother Keith Hanna was called up as an extra infielder.
Talons DH Struggles Continue
When Julio Perez came over from Des Moines, his superior defense pushed Sergio Leon to the DH slot, where he has hit .241 in a continued rough season for the 23 year old CPL MVP. This coming week, Leon is reportedly benched for 21 year old Liberty standout Matsuhide Mori, who is hitting .367 in limited action thus far.
