Toledo, OH--
As the Talons continue their misguided trade boycott and fail to sign any players due to dwindling funds, the Toledo Liberty have proceeded apace to try and improve a team that, despite having went 108-32 each of the last two seasons, has failed to win a CPL Championship since 2057.
Earlier in the offseason, the Liberty made perhaps their most significant move, and that was to lock up LEGENDARY manager Abdelwahab Kamade to a 5 year extension paying 230k per year through 2067. Kamade, a six-time CPL Manager of the Year, has Outstanding development metrics and a record of 811-297 (.732) in his eight years at the Toledo helm.
In addition, the Liberty have made two subsequent moves to bolster their pitching staff, seeing the minor league club claim P Armando Romero off waivers from Des Moines, as well as acquire P Luis Chavez via trade from Long Beach. The minor league club also signed former Trenton (AA) 3B Abdul Azim-Bishr to a MiLC in order to shore up the infield for this upcoming season.
It just goes to show that, despite the shitshow from Phoenix the last few years, the Liberty will stop at nothing to ensure their domination of the Charley Pegler League, age limits be damned!
Go Liberty!
