Despite the TalonsTM final series being on the road in Mexico City, Phoenix fans have been spontaneously gathering around the stadium the last couple days as the season played out. As it happened, the club split the series with the Aztecs 2-2, which secured the Talons first playoff series since 2053. As soon as the clinching game concluded, fans suddenly began forming a line at the rear entrance to the World's Largest Denny'sTM outside of the Center Field stands. Apparently, a social media leak convinced the fans that Free Grand Slam BreakfastsTM would be available in celebration of the Talons playoff berth.
Turns out, they were right! Grand Slams were being slung left and right all evening into the night, as fans celebrated Phoenix's achievement. And though the club was still in Mexico, various Phoenix players reportedly made ZoomTM calls into the giant video board all night long. Fans cheered as guys like Angel Zalapa, Huang Cheng, and even Your Mom called in and thanked the fans for their support.
The Talons are slated to play New Orleans in the Geoghegan RoundTM, after numerous Game 163's are played over the following two days. Wanting to control their own destiny, the club decided to start Alaric Wullenweber in the final game, so questions remain about the playoff rotation. But for now, fans can only think about pancakes, eggs, sausage, edibles, hard liquor, and magic mushrooms as the celebrations continue into the wee hours.
