2058-009: Talons Announce Trade Freeze

Phoenix, AZ--

The Talons are a little concerned with the BBA's plan to overhaul the player scouting system, as mulled by the Governing Board recently. Polls and much discussion are being had, however the Talons, being veterans of this league, are under no delusions that any "polls" or discourse will alter the Governing Board's already-decided course of action.

Therefore, the Talons, despite currently in playoff contention, are announcing a Trade Freeze, effective immediately and lasting as far as the All Star Break in 2059, in order to perform an internal scouting evaluation of our entire system. It sucks, too, because the club was actually in active trade negotiations with more than one team.

Sure, trading for the right player in 2058 may just cement the Talons' playoff chances, but we can't take the risk that a trade would appear to have benefits, only to be completely negated by the new scouting system's changing player valuations. So, sorry, felow GM's. Your Mom(Obligatory Link) won't be wearing another jersey anytime soon. And, sorry Talons' fans. No changes from here on out. Enjoy second place why you can!
