Whew! It's been a whirlwind of a day! Now, it's time to sit back, pop an edible, and write some team news.
And what, you may ask, would this team news be about??
That's right, you guessed it!
Jodie Hanna.

And, well, it's kind of important to have the best players on the team at all times. So, you can see why ol' Sketter Hanna figures into this conversation. As of the All Star Break, Hanna, pitching as a long reliever in her second full season with the Talons, has a 7.71 ERA. And it's getting harder and harder to justify her role on the team, while said team is fighting for a playoff spot.
What makes this even harder is the fact that Jodie is out of options. So the Talons can't send her down. And they don't want to risk her being claimed on waivers. You see, we're struggling to keep her in the bullpen, but we're conflicted due to the famous Talons LoyaltyTM. The club spent literally years bringing this girl up through the system, because history was on the line.
Jodie did indeed become the first ever female pitcher in the major leagues in 2056. And it was rightly celebrated. What's more, she was even better the next season. In 2057, in fact, she was one of the better Talon relievers, with a 1-0 record and 3.29 ERA/1.21 WHIP in 52 innings pitched. But this season, things havent worked out so well, the most obvious being that horrendous .383 BABIP.
So what do the Talons do here? Keep her on, hoping that the good times return and she can have a good second half? Or take the risk that another loss or two can actually threaten the Talons' playoff chances? Stay tuned!
