2058-003: Talons Rule 5 Moves

Phoenix, AZ--
In another perfunctory Team News, the Talons would like announce a Rule 5 acquisition, as well as a loss.
In the draft, the Talons did select C Craig Thomas from Long Beach. Catcher is always a premium position, and Thomas looks to be in the running for the ML backup slot behind Ron Shiplack. His weak arm, however, will have to be watched, as the club has other options for the spot. In the mean time, more catching depth is never a bad thing.
As well in the draft, the Talons lost P Benjamin Broadbent to the Brooklyn Robins. The Talons were aware of the possibility of him being taken, and he was on the bubble for a 40-man slot. In the end however, despite his good stuff and control ratings, Broadbent was left unprotected. Clubhouse rumors indicate that Broadbent has demonstrated problems with attitude in the past, and that may have been the deciding factor.
