2057-54: Talons Single-A Team Wins CPL Title

Phoenix, AZ--

The Talons have a Single-A team, you may have heard of them. They are called the Toledo Liberty and they play at Third Fifth Field Presented by VODAK. Recently, the Liberty won the Charlie Pegler League Championship for the 11th time, tying them for most in league history with Medford. The Liberty won 107 regular season games and swept all three post-season series, winning their first title since age limits were established. This means that every Liberty player was 25 or younger when the season began.

Many players contributed, including outfielders Winston Carreon and Feng-yi Fung, second baseman Mike Collins, and closer Fletcher Quick who had 39 saves. In addition, an interesting factoid is that the Liberty threw two no-hitters this season, one by Lucas Rose and the other by Tom Garner, and both of them were against the same team, Lake City. Cool, huh?

Good job, Toledo Liberty. Go Talons.
