June's Top Hitter
Now 5th in the BBA in home runs (25) and 2nd overall in RBI (79), Joseph Mother continues to pace the Talons offense and is on pace for a nearly 5 WAR season as a DH. In June, the now world-famous Mother slashed .345/.382/.566 and now has over three times as many home runs as doubles. He also has a 1.058 OPS at home thus far, so look for Mom to continue to improve as the Talons begin to play a much larger proportion of home games going forward.
June's Top Pitcher
Slobo was the best of a Talons staff that continues to be mediocre, as they are exactly midpack in the JL in ERA and Runs Allowed. But it's enough to keep the Talons in most games and let the offense do the work. Omeragic, for his part, was 2-1 with a 4.81 ERA in 24 innings this month. He's tied with Damian Theophanous in WAR with 0.7 for the month. Like we said, pretty mediocre.
June's Bum of the Month
Scott was one of those guys with 14 or 15 stuff that the Talons jump all over when they see him. But his inconsistency is getting the best of him, and that's to be expected from a guy with bad platoon splits and a tendency to give up the long ball. After a May that saw him at a 1.17 ERA in 15 innings, Scott was rocked for 11 earned runs in 10.1 innings in June for a 9.58 ERA and this month's Bum Award.
