2055-0023: Talons Insider Says What No One Else Will Admit: Jodie Hanna "Doesn't Have What it Takes" to Pitch in the BBA

Hi folks, Rob Powers here, investigative reporter for the Phoenix Sun Times Post Dispatch (One of Phoenix's Finest Newspapers^TM). Recently we were in contact with an insider at the Talons Scouting Department (Yeah, I didn't know they had one, either!) who told us the ugly truth.

Jodie Hanna will never pitch in the big leagues.

Sure, the 23 year old Canadian relief pitcher has gotten her share of hype, what with media guide articles, team newses, and a formidable social media presence. But, despite a decent season at Toledo with a 7-5 record, 3.28 ERA in 80 innings, and 1.5 WAR, the unnamed Talons scout expressed skepticism that she would ever wear a BBA uniform.

"I know she's on the 40 'person' roster and all that, but personally I think that's just a cover story," the scout said on a condition of anonymity. "I just don't think the team really believes she has the talent to be anything more than a publicity stunt in the big leagues. They're just too afraid to admit it. And well, yeah, another point of stuff or control, and maybe this is a different conversation."

"But right now, with a 30 rating, she should in no way be considered for a Phoenix bullpen slot, now or in the foreseeable future."

Ideally she'd have more stamina though. I need my girls to go on back to back nights and occasionally give me more than one inning.
