2053-007: Talons GM Goes Dark, Abandons Own Team, Shows Up In Tokyo, Wins GBC Championship, Refuses to Elaborate, Leaves

Tokyo, Kanto Region--
Things have been mighty quiet in Phoenix lately, even though the Talons had advanced all the way to the third round of the playoffs. So where was the Reclusive GM this whole time? Turns out he was in Tokyo. You know, just hanging out, visiting Kabukicho, drinking illegal amounts of sake, and, you know, just winning the GBC Championship.
Turns out, the Talons GM was discreetly asked by the BBA Governing Board to go and run Tokyo for a while, what with all the commotion he was causing on discord by saying that Drafts Are ShittyTM and other such inflammatory comments. The GM lept at the opportunity, and started focusing on maintaining the Tokyo Pearls' high level of play despite the formerly rudderless team losing a bunch of players in the offseason.
The Pearls already had a good pitching staff, such as lefty starter Damian Theophanous, third-year breakout starter Umar Dogar, and top prospect Jayin Ranjani. What they needed was some hitting. So the GM did the only logical thing: sign former Talons! Like 3B Chua-kah Yang, 1B Odemar Lock, and former Toledo Liberty DH Montrell Borromini.
The result? After leading the GBC standings much of the year, the Pearls faded slightly back to second place, and went to the playoffs as the lone Wild Card. But Tokyo came back in the playoffs, taking the Denny's GBC Championship Series to an epic 9th game and besting Jerusalem 5 games to 4. In addition, the Talons GM totally revamped the Pearl's minor league system in his classic (soon to be outlawed) style, with all four minor league teams winning their respective championships.
This makes the Reclusive Talons GM perhaps the only one in history to win 5 championships in a single season. Not to mention coming within one round of competing for a sixth. Will he be asked to run the Pearls next year? We'll see. As soon as the GM wakes up from his latest sake-fuelled foray into Tokyo's Red Light District, we'll ask him.
Go Talons!
