2051-0004: Talons Have Best Record in BBA so Talons Write This Article to Jinx It so Talons can Trade Away Their Players

Phoenix, AZ--

Its now June and apparently, the Talons are the best team in baseball.

After years of trying to find the best offensive formula to score runs, the club has seemingly lucked into the JL's number one offense, with a barely average pitching staff keeping them in contention despite the usual rash of shredded labrums and elbows.

But this new era of Talons baseball has some people confused, and we're not talking about the OOTP program that chose long reliever Keith Kinnear as JL Rookie of the Month ("The 25-year-old Phoenix hurler has been spectacular in his 0 starts this month..."). No, the most confused person in all of this is none other than the Reclusive GM.

"What the hell is a 'magic number' anyway?" he asked recently, to no one in particular. "You know, I'd really like to trade away some of my expiring contracts like 80 rated catcher Ichizo Sugiyama or 70 rated shortstop Dick Walton. Or maybe guys like power hitting 2B Chua-kah Yang and DH Norihisa Yokoyama, who both lead the team with 17 homers and both have half their salary already paid. It'd sure be nice to trade them while they are hot," he said.

"But I can't do shit if the team is in first place. So maybe, just maybe, some esteemed publication should write an article about how good the Talons are. That way, everything can fall apart and we can start making all of these trades!"

"I mean, do we even HAVE a media department anymore??" he asked, again to no one in particular.

Writing about this to jinx yourself is a certain way to prompt a reverse jinx and you'll end up stuck for good in first place, unless that is your true intent all along, in which case the double reverse jinx will take effect.
