2050-0008: Talons Once Again Screwed by League Office as Commish Steals Name That GM Came Up With 25 Years Ago

Phoenix, AZ--
The Talons GM interrupted his overnight shift at the local neighborhood iron smelter to comment upon yet another insult hurled his way from the BBA League Office.
"So one day in 1996," he began, "I was at college in the computer lab on an html chatroom called 'ESPN Sportszone'. Suddenly, some guy with the username 'Commish' asks the whole room if anyone wants to join this internet baseball league he set up. Foolishly, I replied that I was indeed interested in such a time wasting endeavor."
He continued. "So I join the North American Computer Baseball Association and was given the team called the 'Phoenix Talons'. I asked, 'don't you mean the Arizona Diamondbacks lol?' Nope, this wasn't real baseball, it was fake and the teams and players were fake. So no Ken Griffey Jr or whatever. Just a bunch of teams and players that existed on a computer somewhere in southeast Wisconsin."
"Anyway, I decided NOT to quit right then and there and continued to run the team, which was depressingly mediocre as always. Though I do remember my minor league team winning like 104 games or something. SO I actually become friends with these people and even recruit two more GMs to the league, Scott Trower and Nick Spitulski. Then, a couple seasons later, there was talk of moving to the brand new sim engine FPS BBPro98. At least I didn't have to pay 39.95 for that one, amirite??"
"So I am actually on a phone call with Brad Browne, who is a good friend of this 'Commish' character I told you about earlier. And, it was even a three way call on a landline with Nick Spitulski as well. Brad was talking about expanding the league and needing a new name. And, swear to god, I said we'd have to call it something epic like the Global Baseball Consortium. Lo and Behold, that's exactly what they named it!! Talk about participation points, I named the damn league!"
"And now I see that this same 'Commish' from that internet chatroom all those years ago wants to rename his UMEBA. And what does he call it?? The same damn thing! What a blatant theft of intellectual property! I demand compensation!!" he ranted.
"The Talons Bonus funds account better get real swole pretty damn quick or there's gonna be hell to pay!!!"
