2048-0003: Talons Discover Massive Conspiracy Designed to Get Them To Comment on Their #4 Starter (We Forgot His Name)

Looking through the Forums recently, the Talons have noticed that other teams have been talking about their #4 starter Roy WhatsHisName.

Talons fans will remember that Whatshisname was the #1 draft pick who just randomly agreed to play for the Talons without bothering to negotiate a signing bonus of any kind. Cool, free player, the Talons thought. So, since he was free, the Talons decided to trade him as soon as they could, in this case to Yellow Springs for super reliever Tiernan O'Macken. Fast forward a couple years, and the Talons then proceed to trade back for the pitcher, sending some spare parts back to YS to get back their free player.

Then the fake news started.

First, it was a OOTP Article stating that the player in question had fallen off a stage at a charity gala event. Totally fake, because the Talons don't hold charity gala events. They just donate unsold Subarus to the local Salvation Army for a tax write off. Then, other teams started to accuse each other of sabotaging this pitcher, literally tripping him and making him fall off a stage that never existed.

And while the Talons watched all this with detached bemusement, they suddenly realized that this was a coordinated effort to get the Talons to write an entertaining Team News about the whole situation. Ahhh... a conspiracy!

Naturally, the Talons, have chosen to do no such thing. So sorry fellas, no Roy Minty (THATS his name!) articles until his elbow explodes in early May.
