2047-0014: Talons Refuse to Vote Thier Own Players For Awards. Some of Them Might Win Anyway.

Phoenix, AZ--

In a stunning reversal, the Talons recently announced that they will refuse to vote for any of their own players for the BBA Awards this year, citing the fact that the team is horrible because they missed the Wild Card on the final weekend for the fourth straight season. In a row.

Normally, the Talons would steadfastly support their own players during awards season, claiming that a rule does not exist that prevents them from voting for all of their own players. For every award. This no doubt caused controversy, chiefly because this practice has prevented numerous BBA stars from winning their awards unanimously. But no more. The front office is so disgusted with this team that no Talons will ever get a homer vote again.

Problem is, a few Talons might end up winning awards anyway. Chief among them is super reliever Tiernan O'Macken, who continues to dominate in the stopper role he helped revolutionize in 2043. O'Macken, a candidate for Reliever of the Year, may also be joined on the podium by teammates Gilberto Sosa and Adergazoz Ouakili, who helped form the premier bullpen corps in the Johnson League.

Other Talons inexplicably up for a minor award include SS Ian Patrick Anderson, who led the club in defensive Zone Rating. If he manages to win a Zimmer at short, it would be his second straight season doing so, as well as the third consecutive win for the Talons, as Dashiell Faireborn won in 2045. In addition, Talons all-glove no-bat catcher Warrington Gillette is a candidate for a Zimmer of his own, due to his ZR of +7.4, his RTO of 46.6%, and his catcher's ERA of 3.50.

Very rarely do any of my players get near enough for even a 100% homer vote to be cast. Most of mine never even make it to the ballot lol
