2045-00004: Talons Make Trade

The Talons are pleased to announce that they have come to agreement in trade with the Omaha Cyclones.

In the deal, one of many blockbuster type trades in the BBA this offseason, the Talons land starting pitcher Aki Kondo and catcher John Todd. In return, the Talons send over prospects C Ichizo Sugiyama, P Augusto Sanchez, and P Takashi Nakamura. In addition, the Talons unload the salary of unloved catcher Sang-duk Sim. Kondo, no relation to Talons LF Natsume Kondo, will lead a revamped Talons rotation that should allow them to compete for the playoffs in 2045 and beyond.

"Yeah, yeah, we know. Kondo is expensive," The Talons Front Office said. "But we're trying to build a playoff caliber rotation here, and that costs money. Sugiyama will be a good catcher, but we were getting worried about his strikeout totals and below average arm. The young pitchers are a few years away but we imagine they will be good contributors as well. And hey, we've been pissed off at Sang-duk Sim for quite a while now so we're glad to unload him. John Tood is more than capable of being our starting catcher for years to come."
