Sang-duk Sim

Where did he come from?
Sang-duk Sim was signed as a free agent prior to the 2041 season. The catcher, 27 at the time, had spent his arbitration years playing for Twin Cities, the franchise that signed him out of South Korea. He was known for his steady bat and outstanding defense, amassing 16 WAR during his six seasons as a River Monster. The Talons signed him to a 6 year, $71 million contract. After a successful 2041 campaign, Sim has not perfomed to expectations since.

How did he do this year?
Talons fans' frustrations continued with Sim this season. Now a contractual albatross, Sim plays solely because the club hasn't found a way to get rid of him yet. His .208/.270/.286 line surely made him one of the worst full-time hitters in the BBA, but his defense kept his WAR just below replacement level (-0.7). This is Sim's second consecutive season with a negative WAR total, even though he threw out a career high 38.7% of base stealers.

What's going to happen to him?
Sorry Talons fans. Ever since Sim decided not to execute his Opt-out in 2043, he was gonna be here to stay. And so it continues into 2045, with Sim pulling down another 12.6 million dollars. The Talons only hope is that his 9 rating at the position represents some sort of positive for the club.

I don't care about Sang-Duk sim. He had one great season in the past with TWC a few years back. Other than that he's been solid to kind of good I didn't have to look anything up. He's not newsworthy.
