Phoenix, AZ--
The Talons GM was interrupted today during another one of his team focused rants.
The scene was similar to ones that we in Phoenix have witnessed for a long time. The GM, again, telling everyong how bad his team is, how he has lost interest, and that there will never be any hope for a competitive team in this league because he isn't a 'nerd' like all of the other BBA GMs. But today... Today was different. Right as he was about to get started, he was given pause by an intern with the Talons Electronic Media And Forum Posting Department, telling him of the club's recent play.
The GM continued to stare silently for a few moments. While we are waiting for him to resume the rant, let's talk about what's been happening. The Talons are 12-4 so far in July, bringing them to a 51-50 overall record and third place in the JL. In fact, the Talons are a mere 1 game out of a JL Wildcard slot. Don Smith, who returned in late June, has pitched well, looks good, and recently signed a 5/76 contract extension. Aside from SS and C, the club has played very well offensively while budding superstar Pedro Guzman is tied for 5th in the BBA with 29 home runs.
Oh, wait, looks like the GM is getting ready to continue:
"Anyway, it's not like it will last. The Talons play a 7 game sim in like three hours so I'm sure they'll be back in last place. Did I mention we have the worst team in the history of the BBA??"
