Phoenix, AZ--
Astute observers of Talons Team News Articles may remember this post from, oh, about 45 minutes ago.
The post, which was about such various things as pitcher team options, sushi prices, and taxes paid to invisible baseball gods, had one tiny detail that sent Talons fandom into a rage. In the text, the post referred to the Talons 2042 season as resulting in a 71-91 team record. This was later found to be inaccurate, as the club's actual record last season was 72-90.
Talons fans exploded in anger, with troll posts, rage quits, and numerous memes flooding the Talons subreddit. Talons twitter erupted with the hashtag #talonsareajoke trending almost immediately. One fan had this to say: "whta [sic] a pile of garbge [sic]. the Talns [sic] are so fuckin stupid they cant even remeber [sic] their own record. LMAOO they tried to add anoother [sic] win!! xDD how stupid do thy [sic] think we are??"
The furor was so intense that old, classic rage comic memes were dusted off and posted:
Talons Electronic Media And Forum Posting Department director David Frum was quick to apologize. He reportedly commented:
"My bad."
Stay tuned for further developments!!
