2042-10: Talons Learn Valuable Lesson: Never Post a Team News Right Before a Sim, Because No One Will Read It.
Phoenix, AZ--
It's no secret that the Talons will have to start writing more articles. The club is going to have to build up some PPT's, and not just to help recent 1st Round pick Antonio Gonzales with his work ethic. In fact, the requirement for PPT's is even more urgent with the aquisition of SP Don Smith, who seems to be on the greedy side. A good infusion of points toward that metric has the potential to save the Talons many millions of fake dollars going forward.
But one thing the club will have to refrain from is posting those Team Newses right before a sim drops, as was the case yesterday. The News article went virtually unnoticed as people congregated on Slack to discuss the sim results. And, to make matters worse, the article is already relegated to Page 2 of the Active Topics tab as of this morning, with no replies and a sad total of 16 views, most of which are undoubtedly bots.
So why is this happening? Some say its because people are tired of reading the same old tired snark from the Talons Front Office. But there may be more going on here. Calls have been getting louder and louder for the reclusive Talons GM to make a podcast appearance. In fact, there may actually be an organized boycott of Talons Team News posts in order to make this happen. Yes, yesss. Of course that's what's happening. Why didn't the Talons think of this sooner? The Talons are no stranger to boycotts after all; at various times leveraging them against writing Team News articles, their own Season Previews, Voting for other team's players in the All Star Game, and even -- you guessed it -- boycotting podcasts themselves.
It's a vicious circle, after all.

Doing a podcast with me is not so far away from boycotting podcasts, after all.

I'm not reading your blatant-PPT-grab-team-news until your titles are shortened. I didn't come here to waste time on titles. We're the California Crusaders, not the California Readers.
Sacramento Mad Popes
-- Vic Caleca Team News Award Winner 2052

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Lately you've looked more like the California Poets.shoeless.db wrote: ↑Mon May 04, 2020 2:19 pmI'm not reading your blatant-PPT-grab-team-news until your titles are shortened. I didn't come here to waste time on titles. We're the California Crusaders, not the California Readers.
