2042-09: Talons Discover That The BBA Slack Channel is Something They Will Never Understand. Also They Make Some Trades.

Phoenix, AZ--

Over the past few days, the Talons have actually signed into the BBA Slack Channel (more than once!) and marvelled at all of the memes, inside jokes, playful insults, and camaraderie that many BBA GM's share on the platform. Unfortunately, this sort of thing is completely foreign to the Talons Front Office, and every time the franchise logs in, they have a sad because it's a world they can never be a part of.

Anyway!

Astute ovservers of the BBA and the Talons in particular will note that the club made three trades over the past three days. In the first deal, the club gives up a large contingent of young bats for a 22 year old left handed ace. Gone are 1B Juan Mateo, RF/DH Norihisa Yokoyama, and 2B Chua-kah Yang, and P Anthony DeYoung to Des Moines. In return, the Talons get SP Don Smith who, if he can get those last two control points, has a chance to be the best pitcher in Franchise history. Also coming over are veteran 2B Angel DeCastillo and young reliever Hector Gonzalez.

Then, the Talons turned around and flipped Hector Gonzalez for slugging 1B Manuel Martinez and young depth-type infielder Roosevelt Gross. In addition, the club also traded for another starting pitcher, this time veteran lefty Jamie Mercado. That move cost the Talons another prospect, this time 17 year old International Complex pitcher Ricardo Suarez and minor league 2B Carlos Fernandez.

So what does it all mean? Who knows. Some think the Talons are trying to make a late Wild Card push, while the reclusive GM maintains that trades are fun, so what the hell. In any case, if you want answers from the Talons Front Office, go ahead and ask them anytime you want.

Just not on Slack!
