2042-05: Talons GM Caught Day-Drinking Again

Phoenix, AZ--

Fresh off a night shift at a local iron ore processing facility, part time Talons GM Sean Marko reported to his cubicle at the Talons front office and immediately started downing glasses of orange juice.

Spiked with tequila.

Seemingly not noticing this reporter's voice recorder sitting on the desk, or, indeed this reporter's very presence in the cubicle, the beleaguered GM started ranting to no one in particular.

"And now Thad Meyer is hurt. He was like our best player. Even had a WAR greater than 1. The thing is, he tore his ALC [He meant ACL -Ed.] a couple years back, but I thought he would be OK. Wanted to make him a lifelong Talon. Gave him an extension. Came back at like 6/6/4 and has pretty much sucked ever since. Except this season so far. Slashing like .3hundred something/.380/.500 or so. And now he has 'Knee Soreness'?? Really? Didn't we pay to have his knee fixed after he blew it out? We probably could have traded the guy but not now, no way. What a joke."

He continued. "And whats this crap about the Talons having the second best farm system? Seriously? Second best in the Brewster? I don't think so. I mean, how many slow power hitting outfielders with no defense can you have? Oh and by the way, after we drafted that pitcher, who still wont sign even though it said 'Easy' for Phoenix, we set the draft for auto and what does it do? Draft a bunch more outfielders who cant field. Or hit. The worst part is, afetr we made our first round pick at 14, someone drafts a reliever at 15 and Slack is all like its the best pick in the history of the BBA beacuse they can convert him to a starter or something. Man talk about a bummer for the Talons. Like its the first pick I've personally made in years and it's a total whiff. SHould have left the damn thing on Auto. But then I'd have another stupid outfielder. DAMN!!!"

With that, this reporter decided it was best to turn off the recorder and sneak out of the cubicle as the GM lay with his head on the desk, drooling Cuervo-infused orange juice all over the place.

At 9:30 in the morning.
