2040-08: DOOOOOM: Talons GM exuberantly gloats that 'Not a SINGLE ONE of our Players has even been injured yet!!'

Phoenix, AZ--
In what could be one of the classic all time blunders, Talons GM Marko exclaimed to the media this morning that the club has been unbelievebly fortunate in the injury department thus far this season.
"Yeah, I mean it's been incredible," he exclaimed. "Not one of our players on the 27 man roster has suffered a serious injury so far this season. Not one. Not a single goddamn one!! This is great!!"
He continued. "I mean, sure, we've had a couple guys get some minor ailments, they might have missed a week, tops. But only a couple guys. Maybe three. But the good news is, among our most important players, no one, and I mean NO ONE has even come close to having a devastating, season changing injury that could affect the destiny of the franchise's playoff hopes this season. It's been amazing. We have been so incredibly lucky, I can't believe it!"
He then went on to name, one by one, some of the most important players on the team and proceeded to point out that they haven't been hurt yet. "Charlie Iron Knife. Egbert Behner. Hector Amaral. Thad Meyer. Weaver Ripley. Bartolo Ortiz. Even our closer Julio Cuevas. All awesomely healthy and injury free!! YAYY!"
Members of the media are reportedly still standing there, mouths agape, in stunned silence.
