2039-11: Talons Still Best Team in Baseball, Still Don't Care Enough to Write a Team News About It
Phoenix, AZ—
Hey guys, its Rob Powers, your intrepid sports reporter for the Phoenix Sun Times Post Dispatch (One of Phoenix’s Best Newspapers). I was doing some investigative journalism the other day and I found out some interesting things. But first, I just wanted to ask you all a question.
Did you know that the Talons are the best team in the Brewster Baseball Association, both by winning percentage and run differential?
Weird, huh? Because I didn’t know that, either! It seems that the Talons, as good as they are, having the best season in franchise history, can’t even be bothered to write Team News updates anymore. I mean, I’m checking the forums every day just like you guys, and nary a thing from Phoenix. Despite the fact that they have had two of the three Johnson League Players of the Month. Despite the fact that they had no less than SIX players make the All Star team. And despite the fact that through all of this, their best overall player was lost for the season months ago due to a torn ACL.
Newsworthy stuff, right? So why can’t we get any news or updates from the team itself? Why do we, the fans, have to go snooping around the internet, looking at forums and Slack groups and stuff, just to get some info about our team? How the hell do they sell out that stadium every night if they haven’t released an article in months?
Your guess is as good as mine. I hope we hear from them soon!

I understand the doldrums. It’s easy to be blasé about a team that’s beating up on the Atlantic and South Eastern. I mean, all the real action is in the Frick. So, really, who can get excited about Phoenix? Meh.

Also, I’m looking forward to some of the “established” GMs getting more of their mojo for the BBA back. Reading through the forums, there’s some talented and witty guys in this league who I’d love to read more of their current material.
I’m in another league and so often I find myself wishing there was a place to flesh out the storylines of the seasons like we have here. This is a great place.

I can understand life getting busy and an online league taking the backseat. It's a testament to the league that it's been functioning for so long with all the ups and downs. I'm sure I'll have my own times of metaphorical crickets of contributions.
