2038-12: Talons Season Preview Series: Right Field

Out in Right Field, you might be thinking of the song by Peter, Paul, and Mary. Or you might be thinking of the Talons Season Preview.

ML Starter: Thad Meyer (8/9/6/4/8 Talents)

Most know the story by now. Once the Talons' CF of the future, Meyer moved to RF to make way for Ripley. He learned the position almost immediately, and despite only playing 21 games there in 2036, Mayer ended up winning both the JL Diamond Glove and Platinum Stick awards for his work there last season. At one point, Meyer was on a double-digit WAR pace and among the early MVP candidates. He came back to earth, of course, but all around play was a big part of the Talons' SunBelt Division winning season. He still can play a good center field, and could likely learn left field in a few weeks if he had to. Probably the Talons' best all around ballplayer.

ML Backup: Gabriel Delgado (5/5/5/4/8 Talents)

Probably exactly what one would want in a fourth outfielder, including good defense and good speed. Delgado will backup all three OF spots in practice, but he is listed here for simplicity.

Minor League Depth: Larry Jennings (4/5/5/5/5 Talents)

Jennings has had ML experience with the Talons in 2035-36, with his primary asset being good speed.

Prospect to Watch: Guillermo Ramirez (6/7/6/6/5 Talents)

The Talons system is surprisingly thin on right fielders, with Ramirez being the "best" of the lot. Nothing special about him, but he's ranked 19th in the system regardless.
