Here we find the Talons Season Preview for second base.

ML Starter: Arturo Barron (4/7/9/6/3 Talents)

Obtained in 2033 by trading Martin SSempa to Jacksonville, Barron finally made the big leagues to stay last season and cemented his reputation as a defensive marvel, recording a +14.9 zone rating at the keystone. He also hit 30 home runs and recorded 2.1 WAR in his first full season, despite only managing an 80 OPS+ value. As with many current and past Phoenix low contact, high power sluggers, he will always strike out a ton, but that 11 positional rating will always have a place in the bigs.

ML Backup: Marcos Hernandez (4/6/5/5/5 Talents)

Another defensive specialist, Hernandez is the primary middle infield backup due to his ability to play SS as well. In 28 big league games last season, Marcos slashed .284/.324/.448 and generally was competent in the field.

Minor League Depth: Leo Duffield (5/5/4/4/7 Talents)

"The Duff" is a popular player for the AAA Ashland Slowriders, having been there since 2034. There doesn't seem to be any situation apart from complete chaos that would see him in the majors.

Prospect to Watch: Chua-kah Yang (8/8/10/4/5 Talents)

Another BBA Top 30 prospect, Yang was acquired by trading Martin Marin a couple years back. There are legitimate questions as to whether he can be a good second baseman, but there are no questions about his bat, which will be that of a prototypical slugger. If he can stick it out at second and become a passable starter there, multiple Platinum Stick awards could be in his future.
