Phoenix, AZ--
Today the Talons announced that they have dismissed the media intern that was responsible for the confusion stemming from today's press release.
A front office official elaborated. "As is common in journalism, there were two press releases prepared for either eventuality regarding our pursuit of free agent BBA pitcher Lawrence Columbus LaLoosh. One to be released if we were to sign him, another to be released if he had signed elsewhere. Unfortunately, the wrong one was inadvertently disseminated to media outlets, and we regret the error."
"I mean really, it's not that big of a deal," he continued. "Writers do this all the time. How else do you think these stories come out so quickly after a big event? Journalists have this stuff in their back pocket so they can be ready for whatever happens. Believe me, there are all sorts of celebrity obituaries pre-written and ready to be blasted out. Trust me, the minute that Mr. T, Betty White, or William Shatner dies, there will be like 100 obits and career retrospectives on the news wires instantaneously."
