2036-07: Talons sign Meyer to Extension
Phoenix, AZ--
As it turns out, the first arbitration case for Thad Meyer (8/10/7/5/9 Talents) will never even happen.
In a signing announced today, the Talons took the young CF's $500k auto renew award for 2036 and promptly handed him an additional three year extension for $19.5 million, brining the total pact to an even $20 million over the next four seasons for one of the most talented center fielders in the Brewster. The Colorado born, 24 year old speedster led the club in hits, doubles, runs, stolen bases, and WAR last season.
"I'm just glad to get this all over with, you know what I mean?" commented Meyer, referring to the arbitration process. "I realize what I said earlier about all of this stuff, but now that I've seen how it works, I'd just as rather skip the whole adversarial process and focus on stability," he said.
"Signing our talented young leadoff hitter was a huge priority for us," said Talons Assistant GM Stu Coates. "With this deal, we buy out all three years of arbitration. I can't tell you how excited we are. What is that, like 110 home runs and 200 steals over the next four years? Sounds good to me!" Coates said.
"I guess that Community Service Day really paid off!"

How did you get someone to sign a 3 year deal? Neat! I used to do this all the time, but since 19, all of my guys on minimum salaries or arb demand six year deals.

Used PPs to lower greed for both Deortez and Meyer

Arellano and Mwaka both agreed to three year deals from me while still at min sal.
Granted, they are pretty low on the ability totem pole.
Most won't take it.

Must just be getting unlucky. THanks guys. I've never put much PP into greed and loyalty. Maybe I'll have to start re-prioritizing.

PPT into Greed/Loyalty can help or not...McQuade was a solid personality guy who went for bigger bucks.

Also has something to do with the clubhouse environment, I think. By the end of the season, the morale of the clubhouse was maxxed out at "ecstatic". Maybe the players sign easier if they like their teammates and manager.
