2036-03: Talons Take Home League Awards

The Brewster League Awards were announced yesterday and three Talons took home some hardware.


CF Thad Meyer (8/10/7/5/9 Talents)
Puckett Platinum Stick Award
The Talons young center fielder, in just his second season in the bigs, took home honors for they top offensive player in the JL at his position. Thad was second in home runs, RBI, OPS, and runs scored among league players in center field. He was first in stolen bases, total bases, and extra base hits. He did lead the team in wars with 5.2, and even led the Brewster with 60 doubles. Meyer also stole 56 bases and slashed .302/.341/.530.


2B Manuel Martinez (7/7/6/3/8 Talents)
Zimmer Diamond Glove Award
Manuel's 18.0 zone rating led all players in the Brewster, and was literally twice as good as any other in the Johnson League, and not just at 2B but at all positions. If there was a no-brainer for this award, Manny was it. His 5.1 wars was also second on the Talons behind Meyer.


SP Jose Trujillo (10/8/6 Talents)
Zimmer Diamond Glove Award
If Martinez' accolade at second base was a given, this was the complete opposite. Trujillo did have a +0.7 zone rating, so that must have been enough. That figure did lead the entire BBA among pitchers, so that's something. He was also tied for second among both leagues in putouts with 13.

No other Talon finished higher than 5th in any of the other major awards.

And I am not, except in rare instances, a fan of the float.

Do a reply via quote and you can see the code (which is just a bracketed 'float=left' and '/float') See, this image is floated. It's a picture of Northwoods Outpost in Vancouver, my fake stadium.

The easiest way is:

1) Click on the "float" button .... that one with the black box and lines next to the orange soundcloud icon. This creates the float code Joe noted.
2) Without touching anything else, click on the image button. This puts an image block inside the float.
3) Paste the image URL into the slot in the img block.

Takes a couple seconds.
