2034-23: Talons won't win this one, are f*cked

Phoenix, AZ--

In a series of public and private comminucations on the forum, as well as with governing board members, the Talons are getting the distinct impression that we are not going to be able to appeal the -75 point penalty in participation points. The Talons have pointed out that it was not THEIR error that led to the discrepancy, but were told, in so many words, that it is not a "penalty" to set the books right.

So, for all intents and purposes, all of the team newses (most ever in a season for the franchise) will go for naught, and we will be lucky to end up at zero when all is said and done this offseason. No extra cash, no relief specialization, and definitely no tutoring for dumb Timofei Bakitski. And that's fine, because the Phoenix Talons have been around for 22 real life years and they aren't going anywhere.

So, the Talons forthwith drop their appeal regarding participation points, and throw themselves on the mercy of the Governing Board. The Talons look forward to uttering no further mention of this fiasco. Phoenix wants to put this sad debacle behind us and focus on 2035.

And, hey, maybe we'll actually finish above .500 and make some money that year.

Cheers! :hi5: :bowtie: :champs:  :pickles: :bye:

I'd lobby to get an exemption to be able to go further into the negative for at least a relief specialization - that is the only thing that is really beneficial for PP expenditures and is comparatively cheap (vs. intangible upgrades, etc.). That seems like a fair compromise, since the only "penalty" is that it messed with your ability to properly plan future expenditures (like for this offseason) by making you think you had more than you really did.

My 2 cents.

Good thought, but I'm done lobbying. It's up to the big boys now, lol.
