2043-00008: Talons Announce Boycott of... You Guessed it... Makeover Monday

Phoenix, AZ--

The Talons were taken aback recently when they learned that the franchise was next up in the popular "Makeover Monday", a weekly series in which new franchise logos and branding are unveiled by a talented graphic design firm.

Upon being told of this surprising development, the reclusive Talons GM remarked, "Well that's news to me! Nice of someone to let me know! Whose idea was this anyway?? What am I supposed to do about it regardless? Listen, I didn't ASK for this, OK???!??" The GM then closed the door to his office. Shortly thereafter came the sounds of a fridge door opening, then closing, and then numerous glass bottles being placed on the desk.

Whatever his reasoning, it appears the Talons GM has no interest in having the franchise rebranded. A quick look at the club's PPT inventory suggests that the club probably couldn't afford it anyway. Many teams enjoy seeing their ballclub festooned with new logos and swag, but not the Talons, apparently. Which is too bad, because the Talons have had the same logo since the ancient, defunct Global Baseball Consortium. Whats more, current Phoenix branding appears to be a direct ripoff of the Tulsa Talons, a team that played decades ago in something called the "Arena Football League".

Suddenly, the office door opened. The visibly drunk GM then exclaimed thus: "And besides, what's the big deal about new logos and shit anyway? A couple of years ago our Short Season A team, the Daytona Beach Bikers, suddenly became the Daytona Beach Cruisers overnight! New logo and everything! So who cares! AND go away!"
