Twin Cities playoff roster for pitchers will certainly raise some eyebrows.
River Monsters GM Alan Ehlers has a reputation of playing the odd hand in the playoffs. And this year looks to be no different, as speculation has come out that the Twin Cities River Monsters pitching staff looks nothing like it did during the regular season.
Ehlers went on to say, "There will definitely be some notable omissions. Look, when you're playing a team like Omaha, who pushes hard in one direction, you need to protect against that direction. We need to put pitchers on the field that can control their offense as best as possible. Sometimes that's not in line with the best pitchers on your team, so we need to make tough decisions. Based upon the Saber metrics."
While we are not sure exactly who is or isn't on the list, it's widely speculated that closer Peter Fuller will not be on the playoff roster. The team has left him off in the past against home run heavy teams as he is an extreme fly ball pitcher who tends to blow a lot of games and has a bad history against the Omaha Cyclones.
