2055.5 Combating Trafficking

Post by ae37jr » Thu Aug 17, 2023 10:59 pm

Combating Trafficking Image With talent bubble bolsting, the race for young warm bodies reaches an all time high.
Most of the talk around the BBA the past several of years has revolved around the late 30's talent bloat. A generation of players that juiced harder Jack Lalane. As that class seems to be aging out and newer draft classes seeming lackluster, desperate times have caused desperate measures.

Last off season the Nashville Bluebirds dropped a dollar amount greater than the Brooklyn Robins budget on a handful of kids. This caused a chain reaction where ex-Omaha owner promised to one up his division rival and drop $200 million. Eventually a scuffle among league GM's occured leading to the abortion of the IFA process.

After threatening to leave the league if this trafficking issue was not resolved, Sacramento GM Ron Collins immediately dropped $23 million on some b pile 20 somethings. While well within the rules, the escalating prices could start a new sub genre of trafficking young prospects.

When asked about these events, Twin Cities GM Alan Ehlers had this to say....

"We are just going to stay in our lane on this one. Let these guys blow millions of dollars on these scrubs. In fact, I think I'm going to start releasing some b and c pile prospects just to watch these fools spend $6-7 million on players that will never play in the BBA."
