#32 Retired Image River Monsters to honor Mark Wareham

The Twin Cities River Monsters announced today that they are set to retire the #32 of long time Franchise player Mark Wareham.

When you think of the Twin Cities River Monsters, what is the first name you think of? It has to be Mark Wareham, right? From 2030 to 2039 Wareham was a fixture at SS for the upstart River Monsters. In fact, he was an OG member of the team, coming over in the 2029 expansion draft. He lead the BBA in walks each of his first 5 seasons. A feat he would pull off two more times later in his career.

Wareham was a 7 time all star, 5 time outstanding at SS, 1 time best fielderand three time player of the week. He is the franchise leader in WAR, Walks, Games, At Bats, and Stolen Bases while litering virtually every other category of team history.

After 9 seasons in the Twin Cities, Wareham moved on with Brewster aspirations. That would be one feat that he would not accomplish during his tenures in Charm City, California, Chicago, Phoenix and two more stints with the River Monsters before retiring in 2050.

We'd like to congratulate Mark on an outstanding career and recognize his accomplishments by retiring his #28 on opening day, in front what is expected to be a record crowd of 65,000+ fans.

Current River Monster Ignacio Venegas has announced that he will change his number from 32, which he chose to honor Wareham, to his old Brooklyn number... 18.
