With 2054 season in the books, there is plenty to do both on the field and off. Fresh off a season in which the River Monsters drew the 5th highest total of fans in attendance and 6th highest gate revenue, the team announced plans to add even more seats.
The new seating section will be apart of the upper deck in left field and in addition to the seating, will include more fan amenities such as 'Kelly's Split, Slide and Sinker' bar and grill, "Wareham's Wear 'Ems" gift shop, and a new set of bathrooms dedicated to the 2047-2050 River Monsters team. Construction has just begun and the new seats should be ready just in time for opening day.GM Alan Ehlers wrote:2054 was a landmark season for us in a variety of ways. Not only did we make it to the Doubleday series, but we also drew 4 million fans for the first time in franchise history and turned the largest profit in 13 seasons. While that is all fine and dandy, the bad news is that we filled the stadium to 86% capacity. Meaning that there wouldn't be much room for improvement moving forward. So we made the decision to add 5,000 more seats so we can cram 'em in like sardi....I mean create a better fan experience.
