In a move that appears to be mutually beneficial to both parties, Alex Ramirez has elected to opt out of his final year... foregoing $18 Million in salary.
As bad as it to lose a player of Alex's caliber, the TWC Front Office really need the salary relief... maybe allowing them resign a couple key veterans on the team.
Alex reached the 300 HR earlier milestone earlier this season at the age of 30. A few more strong seasons, 400 homeruns isn't crazy or even 500 depending how long he can go. He's obviously hoping for a huge payday this offseason.
