A lone vote for Alberto Rodriguez (NSH) caused Joe Bradshaw from being an unanimous award winner for the Charles Pucket Gold Bat for Catcher in the Frick League.
"Look, Alberto is a fantastic young catcher and I'm not going to take anything from his excellent season..." comment GM Scott Piccoli "But we all know where that one vote from him likely came from." He finished with a smirk.
Bradshaw was a doubles machine with a healthy dose of homeruns. To keep him in the lineup as much as possible, Twin Cities would have Joe hit DH against Lefty Starters while having the talented Parker Davenport catch. Having Parker play back up is a luxury that the Front Office cannot afford to keep doing as his value there is being wasted. However, the team needs Parker to step up his hitting performance to boost his trade value.
However, it appears for the time being, Twin Cities will stick to the same plan to keep Bradshaw hitting in the lineup as much as possible.
