2042 Stats - .279 BA / 10 HR / 34 RBI / .861 OPS / .9 WAR

Ever since Ricardo Aragon switched to a platoon system at Third Base last season, his numbers have drastically improved. The pairing with Jose Benavidez has allowed the line up get solid production from Third Base after Aragon struggled in his early seasons while playing the position full time.

Prior to last week, Ricardo's Arbitration estimates looked to be $3.5-$4 million. The Front Office reached out to his agent with a Three year deal at about $4.5 Mil per season. Aragon's agent replied that the deal looked acceptable and asked to send it over.

Then came last weeks performance.... 3 HR's 7 RBI's, 1.278 OPS...

The email came this morning... Sorry not good enough.

It appears that the arbitration estimates have gone up and so has Ricardo's demands. 1 Year - $6.5 Million

Well, the nerve of some guys. This reporter thinks the team should have Ricardo start against Lefties for few weeks and see if that demand comes back down where it should be.

I've been thinking about offering extensions to a few players in my system who have shown worthy...but have been nervous to do so at the apex of their value. Primarily because of a fear of a reaction like Aragon!
